New plan to shape WA's science and tech future

27/09/23 - The Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) is leading the development of a 10 Year Science and Technology Plan for WA.

Support from the WA Government has been received to begin work on developing this Plan. The aim of the Plan is to provide clear direction to the State government on investments that will boost science, research and technology across multiple sectors as well as identify key research priority areas.

The first phase of consultation for the Plan is currently underway. This phase aims to gather information on the current science and technology environment in WA and begin to identify key priority areas. JTSI are conducting a number of workshops across the regions with the aim of gaining a snapshot of the current science and technology environment in WA as well as to identify key priorities and brainstorm a vision.
