mRNA Victoria & Pfizer Joint Symposium

Attend the first mRNA Victoria & Pfizer joint symposium to showcase Australian RNA technology and therapeutics research.
The symposium will enable high-quality Australian RNA researchers to connect with Pfizer’s Centres for Therapeutic Innovation (CTI) and RNA Accelerator to discuss advancements in the field of RNA therapeutics and the next generation of RNA medicines.
Themed sessions will showcase the latest Australian research in RNA-based vaccine and therapeutics and delivery technology.
This event will be held virtually over two half days and hosted by BioMelboune Network and Research Australia on behalf of Pfizer and mRNA Victoria.

Consumer and Community Involvement in Research

Implementation science bridges the gap between developing and evaluating effective interventions and implementation and de-implementation in routine practice. This seminar covers key elements of implementation research; theoretical approaches, research designs, involvement of stakeholders, behaviour change interventions.

Submission is now open for symposia proposals to be presented at the ASPA-ASCEPT 2022 Joint Conference. The theme of the conference is local and global and partnerships to drive innovation and impact.
The deadline for submitting symposia proposals is Monday 30 May 2022.
Applicants will be advised whether or not their symposium proposal has been accepted by Monday 20 June 2022.

It is a collaborative program led by the University of Western Australia (UWA) and networks across Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, Murdoch University, University of Notre Dame Australia and Macquarie University. iPREP Biodesign was established in 2020 as an initiative between iPREP WA and Perth Biodesign, as a result of seed funding from the X-TEND WA program, New Industries Fund, managed by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science, and Innovation.

WA Health Hackathon 2022
8-18 August 2022
The WA Health Hackathon will bring together a diverse group of data professionals and students to explore innovative digital and data-driven solutions to real world healthcare challenges. Teams will take part in a range of upskilling/training sessions and develop prototype solutions for specific healthcare challenges, applying techniques such as data analysis and visualisation, machine learning, and digitisation.
Challenges can be put forward by WA-based clinicians, medical researchers, provider organisations, academia, government, and industry.
Each challenge submitted for the Hackathon must have a clearly defined problem and an assigned domain expert. The assigned domain expert must be available for a minimum of 30 minutes during the first week of the Hackathon (8-12 August 2022) for a Q&A session with the team assigned to work on their challenge. This can be done virtually or in-person. We are also encouraging all domain experts and challenge owners to attend the final pitch night scheduled for Thursday, 18 August 2022 - please save the date in your calendars.

On-farm Soil Acidity and Nutrient Management

Lime use in WA agriculture is 60% of the estimated annual requirement to manage soil pH in topsoil and subsoil: Avon River Basin insight.
This project works with growers to investigate soil pH levels at both topsoil and subsoil levels across their farm providing more precise and long-term lime recommendations, as well as gaining valuable insight into the current state of soil acidity in the Avon River Basin.
